This collective monograph presents the main results of an interdisciplinary project on the history of marine fisheries in the White and Barents Seas (Russian North), 17th -early 20th centuries. It is based on a variety of local sources in addition to government statistics. The data allows reconstruction of the population dynamics of important commercial fisheries of the Russian North such as Atlantic salmon, White Sea herring, and Atlantic cod. The data is divided by the fish species and by locality, and covers a period of three and a half centuries.
