The first "case of the historians" was organized by the soviet ideologues in 1929-31. Platonov and Tarle were accused of following the "chauvinism of Kliuchevskii", "zoological nationalism", etc. Both Russian historians were repressed, but survived. The second "case of the historians", according to the compilers of this book, is organized against the authors of the new official version of the soviet history (comp. by A.S. Barsenkov and A.I.
