Nikita Mikhailovich Murav`ev (1795?-1843) became one of the founders of the first secret society Soiuz Spaseniia in Russia at age of twenty, and then one of the acclaimed leaders and theoreticians of the Decembrist movement. His life ended in Siberian exile before he reached fifty. He is the author of several works: Constitution, Thoughts About the History of Russian State by N.M. Karamzin, and others. This book includes 258 of Murav`ev`s letters dated 1813-1826. About half of them were written before his imprisonment in the Petropavlovskaia fortress. Only ten of them are previously published.
