This monograph studies the policy and practice of discrimination and repression against peasants in the 1930s: disfranchisement and exile. The authors also investigate the reaction of peasants towards the repressive government, its strategies and tactics, and adaptation to the severe conditions of life in their place of exile, Western Siberia.
