This book is a scholarly publication of a collection of Russian folklore legends, which was published first in 1861 and has not been reprinted until now. The compiler is unknown. It includes 29 plots and 23 texts. Some of them are considered rare for Russian folklore repertoire. The collection fell out of the regard of researchers because of doubts as to its folkloric authenticity.
