This is a work about the outstanding Russian philosopher Vladimir Solov`ev (1853-1900) written by another prominent philosopher, Aleksei Losev. Losev started his professional life with a paper about of Vl. Solov`ev`s ideas. Symbolically Losev`s last work was also about Solov`ev: it was sent to the publisher two weeks before Losev’s death in 1988. The first edition of the biography was first published in 1990. This book includes additional chapters about Solov`ev`s philosophy and ethics, his studies in the history of philosophy, personality, and views. Supplement contains Losev`s work: Ethics: From socio-historical utopia to apocalypse and an essay by S. Luk`ianov on S.P. Khitrovo.
