This book-album by historian of art and painter T. Shcherbatova-Sheviakova (1905-2000) contains analysis of the frescos of the Church of the Savior on Nereditsa, one of the most amazing monuments of Old Russian architecture, practically destroyed during WWII. The book describes all the main characters and scenes (about 300). These descriptions were made by the author in 1925-31. The album also includes her reconstructions of partially lost paintings, drafts, copies of ornaments, and photographs. It is a unique document for scholars and restorers. 285 black-and-white and color illustrations.
