Moscow: Olimp, AST, 2002 Serie: Biblioteka Russkoi Kritiki ISBN: 5819505131 Language: Russian
This is a collection of critical articles by the best known and influential Russian critics of the beginning of the twentieth century whose work was interrupted by the revolution of 1917. The literary history of this period is reduced to the history of the so called Silver Age, but periodicals connected with this movement were much less popular at that time than for example the magazines Vestnik Evropy, Russkoe Bogatstvo or the newspaper Sankt-Peterburgskie Novosti. Leo Trotskii aptly called them `laboratories that cooked new ideas`. The anthology includes twenty-four critical writings by six well known Russian critics: Arkadii Gornfel`d (1867-1941), R.V. Ivanov-Razumnik (1878-1946), Aleksandr Izmailov (1873- 1921), Iulii Aikhenval`d (1872-1928), Petr Pil`skii (1879-1941), and Kornei Chukovskii (1882-1969). Comments, bibliographic references.
