Viktor Nekrasov (1911-1987) became a writer during World War II. His first book, In Stalingrad`s Trenches, made him famous and brought him the Stalin award. This early fame did not spoil and did not change him. True to himself, he very soon became a literary outlaw: he was excluded from the CPSU and from the Union of Writers. His books were withdrawn from the libraries. This volume includes his first book In Stalingrad`s Trenches. Afterword by Boris Slutskii. Also available by the same author: Viktor Nekrasov. Sochineniia (2002); Na Voine i Posle: Povesti. Rasskazy. Esse (2005); Chertova Semerka: Povesti. Rasskazy (2005)
