This is a new volume of academic publication of the diaries of General Patrick Gordon (1635-1699), a Scot who was in Russian service in 1663-1679, and advised Peter the First in all his military projects and innovations. During his stay in Russia Gordon witnessed and reflected in his diary many historical events. This volume includes diaries of 1684-1689 when he served in regions neighboring China, traveled to England in 1686, participated in the Crimean battles and other events of the Petrine epoch of Russian history, including the coup d’etat in 1689. The diary is supplemented with Gordon`s letters, and documents about him from Russian and British archives, some of them are published for the first time. (0.465 kg.).
