The author has analyzed a large corpus of unique materials on Teleut shamanism, pertaining to the early 20th century. This monograph is based on archival and literature sources, as well as on the author`s own materials and data collected during field work in 1982-1994. The appendix includes the text of the Teleut shamanizing to the Spirit-Owner of the threshold from the Tomsk Archive of the famous scholar A.V.
