The Armenian-Azeri argument over the status of the territory of Nagornyi Karabakh is one of the main issues of political life in Transcaucasia. The conflict started when the first blood was shed in two towns Stepanakert and Sumgait in 1988. Alongside the main question for Azerbaijan, namely restoring its territorial integrity, the Azeri society is preoccupied with a number of attendant problems: the role and interests of Iran in the conflict and the fate of Azeri monuments on the territories controlled by the Armenians among other issues. This brochure is a collection of publications and radio materials representing the Azeri views on the issue in stake and explaining the Azeri political steps of the last two decades.
