This collective monograph is one book of the series "Peoples of the Far East of the USSR". It was written by scholars from the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the Peoples of the Far East. The Ul`chi are related to the Tunguso-Manchurian group of the Altai linguistic family, and they live in several settlements along the Amur River. The monograph also studies the ethnogenesis, ethnic history and culture of one Northern indigenous people, the Koryaks. The study covers the period from the 17th century to the 1980s. Bibliography.
