Troshev, G.N Chechenskii Izlom
Dnevniki i Vospominaniia
[ Chechen break : Diaries and memoirs]
Moscow: Vremia, 2009 415 p. [32 ill.] Hardcover. 15 x 21 cm ISBN: 9785969104716 Language: RussianGeneral Troshev, who died in an air crash in 2008, was a new type of Russian general. Unlike many other Russian officers, who are not used to any dialog with the society, Troshev understood that the information war, or truthful information about a war, is probably as important as military action. This book is a new updated edition of the two previous books which Troshev finished before his death: Moia Voina: Chechenskii Dnevnik Okopnogo Generala (2001) and Chechenskii Retsidiv: Zapiski Komanduiushchego (2003). His memoirs cover both wars in Chechnya, and explain the motivation and strategy of the Russian Federation army in the region. However he was dismissed from Chechnya for his views on the war, and his first book cost him any further military career.
