This is the fourth volume in the series started by the publisher Giperion and the State Theater Library (St. Petersburg): compendium of stage plays by Russian writers of the 18th-20th centuries. This volume includes the 16 best known comedies and comic operas by Nikolai Polevoi (1796-1846), a journalist, historian, writer and publisher of the famous journal “Moskovskii Telegraf”. Two of the 16 are translated from other languages. Comments.
