Calliope, or on creative work

This book examines the correlation between the biography of an artist and his creative work as symbolic analogue of human life. The artistic work always goes beyond the personal human experience of its author. The author argues that the artistic work (literary, musical, visual, etc) should be interpreted by itself without its connections with the biography of an artist. Mil’don further illustrates his theses with examples from Russian, European and world artistic practice with the help of data from linguistics, biology and analytical psychology.
