Published in Berlin in the 1920s a monthly of the same title, covering novelties of the book market, was a chronicle of literary life and was an important landmark in the history of the Russian "free press". The periodical, resumed in 1998, specializes in analysis and review of contemporary Russian publishing. Every issue is divided into several sections devoted to various subjects: reviews of Russian literature and translations from foreign literatures; humanities; memoirs, literary criticism, philosophy and cultural studies, history; psychology, etc. The periodical also publishes interviews with authors whose works were noticed by critics and general readership. This is the second issue for 2000. Subscriptions, and single issues are available.
