This is the first monograph which studies the reflection of the Russian folklore tradition, first of all spells and exorcisms, in Russian literature. The author found them in the works of O. Somov, M. Zagoskin, A.K. Tolstoi, K. Bal`mont, A Remizov, E. Zamiatin, B. Pasternak, A. Akhmatova, and many others. Korovashko not only traces the sources of magic texts, but also analyzes the function they have in specific literary works. She also analyzes how folklore texts are transformed in the context of the works. Bibliographical references.
