This book is a story about Russian diplomat Aleksei Mikhailovich Obreskov (1718-1787) who was imprisoned and spent a period of time in Turkish prison during the Russian-Turkish war 1768-1774. The book includes rare diplomatic documents of that time. Petr Stegnii is a professional diplomat. He was the director of historico-documentary department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and combined his work with writing about Russian diplomats.
