Since 1989 Panorama of Russia has specialized in academic and reference publications from the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
French composer of Russian origin Nikolai Obukhov (1892-1954) continues to be a practically unknown person among his compatriots. He is known for his active role in reform of musical notation, his music was performed by S.A. Kutsevistkii. Obukhov was also known as a disciple of Skriabin. He left a pile of musical compositions, many of which were never played, and now provoke utter surprise and bewilderment. Are these works something very valuable, which people will learn to appreciate with time? This book is the first Russian publication which traces his life and his artistic works, his correspondence with colleagues, his performing activity. Bibliography of his works and works about him. Samples of his notation.
