Grand Duke Andrei Romanov is a younger brother of Kirill Romanov who proclaimed himself the Russian emperor in exile in France in 1924 He was one of the most educated persons in the Romanov`s dynasty, an extraordinary personality who made an excellent military career. These diaries are kept by the Grand Duke when he fought on the north-west front in 1914-15 and in Petrograd in 1916-17. He also describes in detail the assassination of G.
