This volume of the series History of the House of Romanov in Memoirs of Contemporaries includes four works about the reign of Aleksei Mikhilovich (1645-1676). The first work is a report of the Dutch embassy secretary Andreas Rhode about the visit of the Dutch ambassador to Russia (1659). The second work is a trip diary of diplomat Augustinus von Meyerberg (1612-1688), envoy of the Roman Emperer Leopold I Habsburg to Aleksei Mikhailovich. The third part of the book is notes of the Englishman Samuel Collins (1619-1669?) residing at the royal court as a doctor of Aleksei Mikhailovich for nine years. The last and the largest part is Skazaniia o Moskovii by Jacob Reutenfels born in Kurland who lived in Muscovy in 1671-1673. Comments, indices, glossary.
