This book is a historiography and source study of materials of the investigation of the death of Nicholas II`s family (July 17, 1918). In addition to the documents the investigator of the Omsk Court N. Sokolov (1925) provided by the Kingdom of Lichtenstein, the author also got access to special collections on the subject in Russian archives. The last chapter contains some materials and conclusion of the government commission (1993-1998) related to identification and reburial of the Tsar`s family remains (the full publication of materials of this commission is yet to be published). The book includes an extended bibliography and description of existing documents. Name index.
