According to the author, Aleksei Remizov (1877-1957) is one the most "mysterious" Russian writers. This mysteriousness is manifold: symbolic, theatrical, philosophical, mythological, and religious. Myth lays at the basis of his works and forms his poetics. His works absorbed the ideological and esthetic potential of Russian culture of the Silver Age, emigration culture, and the traditional culture of the East.
