This sixth volume of the Complete Collection of Russian Tales includes two collections of Russian folklore by Ivan Khudiukov (1842-1876). His name stands next to A. Afanas`ev as a pioneer of studying, collecting and publishing Russian folklore. This volume includes 122 tales and 731 enigmas he collected in the central part of Russia. These books were published in 1860-1861. Unlike A. Afanas`ev, Khudiukov did not edit the tales he collected for publication. Though Khudiukov`s collection is rather small, it includes some tales and plots which nobody found before him. Commentary, indices of plots, names, subjects, and a short dictionary of obsolete words. The series started in 1998, the previous five volumes are also available.
