Boris Vasil`ev (1924-2013) belongs to the generation of veterans of the world war. He published his first novel "A Zori Zdes` Tikhie" in 1969, and became immediately famous. This novel continues his saga about the noble Oleksin family, started in his novel Kartezhnik i Bretter, Igrok i Dueliant (1998). Also available by the same author: A Zori Zdes` Tikhie (2003), Aleksandr Nevskii (2004), Sobranie Sochinenii v Trekh Tomakh (2004).
