Amusements, one of the oldest esthetic phenomena, experienced a Renaissance in the twentieth century. They include old forms like shows, theater, and circus, and new ones like cinema and TV. This monograph analyzes amusements not only as artistic forms, but also as means of influence on masses. Correspondingly, the author studies not only esthetics and artistic aspects of amusements, but sociological aspects as well.
