Language: RussianThis monograph studies particles and shows their difference from what called "chastitsy" in Russian. The author demonstrates the role of particles in formation of Indo-European paradigms. Nikolaeva shows that Slavic languages during their early stage had much more in common. In this sense Old Russian was much closer to Old Slavonic than modern Russian. The book also stresses the difference of the role of particles in different languages: they are used as separate parts of sentences in some but only as part of phraseological expressions (idioms) in others.
