This is the forth book in the series "Famous Russians About…". This one is an anthology of travel notes and diaries about Naples by famous Russian statesmen, nobles, writers, and artists of the 19th-early 20th centuries. The previous three books were about Rome, Florence and Venice. Written by a well known Russian philosopher, this book recreates the Russian feeling for this miracle of a city, shows numerous sources of inspiration and learning of Russian artists and writers: from Konstantin Batiushkov to Gor`kii and Bunin. The book is illustrated with black-and-white engravings and photographs. Aleksei Kara-Murza (b. 1956) published several books in the history of Russian philosophy and political thought of the 18th-20th CC, history of Russian Westernizers and reformers, including `Russians about Bolshevism (also available).
