Akhiezer, A., Kliamkin, I., Iakovenko, I Istoriia Rossii
Konets ili Novoe Nachalo?
[ History of Russia : The End or a new start?]
Comp. and ed. by Igor` Kliamkin
Moscow: Fond Liberal`naia Missiia, Novoe Izd-vo, 2005 706 p pbk. 13 x 20 cm ISBN: 5983790242? Language: RussianThree modern Russian philosophers and political scientists study the underlying basis of the relations between Russian authorities and Russian society and the reasons of the repetitious rises and falls, even political catastrophes in the history of the state. They argue that all representations of the state were heterogeneous: they were made up of dissimilar or even mutually exclusive elements. This fact manifests a deep social and cultural schism characteristic of Russian society that predetermined the singularity of historical changes in Russia. The first part analyzes the authoritarian veche ideal of Kiev and Novgorod Russia and shows why it was unable to provide for a stable government. The second part scrutinizes the authoritarian Orthodox ideal of Muscovite Russia. The third part deals with the Romanov dynasty. Other books of this series are also available.
