Vladimir Krivosh (1865-1942), born in Austro-Hungary, accepted Russian citizenship in 1893, and began his service in the Russian "black cabinet", the department of the secret police on perlustration of correspondence. He knew more then twenty languages. In parallel, he worked as a decoder and translator in other departments of the secret services of the new soviet government up to 1935. Though he was arrested and spent four years at the Solovki prison, he did not serve all his time, and was returned to the OGPU-NKVD. This book is a detailed report about his life and his achievements as a secret agent.
