Russian writer Mikhail Nikitich Murav`ev (1757-1807) was a man of many talents and interests and of broad knowledge. An outstanding actor of the Russian Enlightenment, he seems not to have had an equal at that time in education and variety of social and artistic activities. Like many of the Russian nobility he first had a military career, then a very successful civil career: he became a tutor of Russian princes, vice-minister of Public Education, etc. Comments.
