[ In search of its fate: Jewish people in the rotation of history]
Moscow: Mezhdunarodnye Otnosheniia, 2001-2003 3 v ISBN: 5713310795 Language: Russian
This is a trilogy on the history of the Jews by Iakov Rabinovich (b. 1930). The first volume (ISBN 5713310833) tells the story of the people on the territory of the Russian empire up to 1917. The second volume (ISBN 5713310795) focuses on the dramatic controversies of Jewish history in 1917-1940: emigration vs assimilation. Jews divided into two groups: those who wanted to emigrate to Palestine and those who chose to share the fate of the peoples they lived with, in particular the peoples of the USSR. The third volume (ISBN 5713311333) covers the Great Patriotic War, the Stalin period, and biographies of famous Jewish people. Another subject of this book is the Jewish Diaspora to the USA. According to the author the current Jewish world represents a triangle: Israel-America-Russia.
