This monograph studies the folk dwellings of peoples of the Baltic-Finn language group who lived in the St. Petersburg Gubernia at the beginning of the twentieth century: Vodi, Izhors, and Ingermland Finns. This work is based on field work conducted by the author in 1980-1986. It analyzes and describes the typical floor plans of houses, other buildings in the complex, and backyards. This study of the material culture of these peoples shows that they have a lot in common with some other peoples of Eastern Europe. Bibliography. Numerous illustrations: maps, floor plans and graphs.
