[ Dukes of revolution in the epoch of translations : Humanities and the revolution of concepts]
Moscow: Novoe Literaturnoe Obozrenie, 2005 260 p Hardcover. 13.5 x 20.5 cm ISBN: 5867934071 Language: RussianThe boom of translations in humanities in Russia is explained by some critics as a "posttotalitarian scenario", as a natural need to get access to the world legacy in this field. But, according to the author of this monograph, Russia is not the only country which goes through a peak in translations. The other common opinion is that publishing of translations in social sciences should be followed by "deideologization" in these fields. Based on analysis in humanities of several countries, including France and Hungary in addition to Russia, the author disputes these common views, and shows how humanities are affected in the epoch of translations. This book also includes some statistics about publishing of translations in these countries. Name index.
