This monograph studies the formation and development of labor relations in post-soviet Russia. The study is a collective research project of Russian and Canadian sociologists, economists, and psychologists based on results of surveys and tests. The researchers describe changes in the legal basis of labor relations, strategies of adaptation of Russian enterprises and workers to market conditions, new correlations between formal and informal labor relations; delineate areas and problems of social partnership between employees and employers, and the possible role of trade unions in these relations. The Russian research team was led by Vladimir Iadov, the Canadian - by Joan de Bardeleben (Carleton University, Director of the Institute of Europe and Russia).
