Lakku Maz, one of official languages of the Republic of Dagestan, belongs to the Dagestan (Iberian-Caucasian) group of languages. The population of Laks in Dagestan is a little over 100,000. This dictionary was prepared by Dagestanian scholar Ali Kaiaev (1878-1943). It combines features of explanatory, historico-etymological and encyclopedic dictionary. In addition to original words of the Lak (Lakku) language it also includes words adopted from Arabic, Persian, Turkish and Russian. Bibliography in Russian.
