This collection contains documentary materials about the life, mode of thought, and research interests of historian of Russian literature of the first half of the nineteenth century. Vadim Erazmovich Vatsuro (1935-2000). He is best known as a Pushkinist and a specialist in Lermontov, Karamzin, and the poetry of Pushkin`s age. His main areas of interest were Russian lyrics, literary life, history of publishing and censorship in the 19th century. Vatsuro was one of the editors and compilers of the academic collected works of Pushkin and the Lermontov encyclopedia. The collection includes memoirs about him, his private and official correspondence, diary and fragments from note books.
