This volume starts the publication of the diaries of Aleksandra and Ivan Serebrennikov, who described in their daily notes the life of Russian communities in Kharbin, Peking, Mukden and other Chinese towns. The first volume covers 1919-1934. The Serebrennikovs analyze the political situation in China and how it affected the Russians.
