This is the fifth volume of the Russian Folklore Collection, Series “Bylinas”, started by the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkinskii Dom). The first two volumes embrace bylinas of the Pechora River region of the Russian North, the next three volume include bylinas of the Mesen River, also in the Russian North.
