This is a collection of 84 tales and legends gathered and recorded by Russian philologist and dialectologist V.I. Chernyshev in Pushkin`s places (the villages of Mikhailovskoe and Boldino) in 1927-1929. This collection is meant to study the role of Russian folklore in Pushkin`s literary language and Pushkin`s attitude towards folklore.
