This album contains a unique collection of Russian heirlooms, truly rare works of art of enduring esthetic value: icons, crowns, robes, weapons, tableware, and jewelry made by Russian craftsmen and masters of other nations living in Russia. The album includes 148 watercolors by the Russian artist F.S. Solntsev (1801-1892) who spent most of his artistic life painting objects of art. Even photography could hardly reproduce the finest lines, hues, patterns, and colors as well as he did by hand. The album is a partial reprint of the six volume publication Drevnosti Rossiiskogo Gosudarstva, 1849-1853. Each illustration is provided with parallel text in Russian and English. Gift edition
