This problem becomes most apparent in the period of adoption of a new criminal code, especially in the period of the social revolutionary changes. This work attempts to provide ethical grounds for the retroactive force of criminal law. Operation of criminal law in time and, in particular, issues of the retroactive force of criminal law are examined from the point of view of subjective imputation. Using judicial practice, the work examines the issues of application of retroactive force of criminal law in conformity with the rules of both the General and Special Parts of the Criminal Code of the RF. The work also references non-Russian criminal legislation related to the issues in question.
