This is a collection of documents on the post-war fate of one of the most prominent and controversial Russian military leaders of World War II, Georgrii Zhukov (1896-1974). Immediately after the war, he found himself out of Stalin`s favour. Ten years later he was raised again and appointed minister of defense by Nikita Khrushchev, and two years later became a victim of the nomenklatura`s coup d`etat against Khrushchev. 25 years after his death Zhukov was completely officially rehabilitated. The central place in this volume is taken by the minutes of the October 1957 Plenum of the CPSU. It also includes Zhukov`s letters to Stalin and other party officials, his reports and notes as minister of defense, materials about his trip on business to Albania in 1957, correspondence about Zhukov`s memoirs, documents on his rehabilitation. Name index, comments.
