This monograph deals with the lexics of regional business papers and correspondence of the 18th century in the Transbaikal region (Siberia). The author analyzes previously unstudied handwritten business manuscripts, and traced the evolution of the business language. The vocabulary of these documents consists of several layers: Old Slavic words and expressions; words adopted from European languages; words of the aboriginal peoples of Siberia, all-Russian colloquial and local words. The author studies the stylistic features and functions of each of these layers. Bibliography. Illustrations. Brief dictionary.
