This is the first of two volumes of the selected works of professor of St. Petersburg University A.N. Veselovskii (1838-1906). The first volume contains the third updated edition of his classic work in theory of literature first published in 1940. Unlike two pervious editions, the current one includes for the first time Veselovskii`s work "Opredelenie Poezii".
