This photo album of the architectural monuments in the Irkutsk region of Siberia was made by professor of Slavic Studies William Brumfeld (Tulane University). He is one of the leading specialists in the Russian North. 43 photographs. This volume features the town of Tobol`sk. This town was the administrative center of the northern Russian gubernia (current Tiumen` region) and unofficial center of the vast area around it in the 17th and 18th centuries.
