The first, Theory of Russian Poetry and Stylistics in the 18th Century, shows how poetry developed in the context of various poetical styles of this epoch: Baroque, Neoclassical, Sentimental, and pre-Romantic. The second part, Poetry of 1730-1790s, studies works of the leading Russian poets of this period: Trediakovskii, Lomonosov, Sumarokov and his school, Kheraskov, M. Murav`ev, Karamzin, Derzhavin, Dmitriev, Krylov, and Batiushkov.
