This is the third volume of annotated guides to documents of the CPSU Central Committee housed in the State Archive of Recent History. The first guide (1999) contained 500 documents of the department on relations with communist parties abroad. This second handbook contained detailed description of 164 documents of the Culture Department. The current third volume includes annotated documents of a department which had several names during thirteen years: "Otdel Nauki i Kul`tury", "Obshchii Otdel", Otdel Nauki i VUZov", "Ideologicheskii Otdel", etc. Name, geographic and subject indices. The first two volumes of the series are also available: Otdel TsK KPSS po Sviaziam s Inostrannymi Kompartiiami: 1953 - 1957 gg. (1999); Otdel Kul`tury TsK KPSS: 1953 - 1966 gg. (2004).
