He was the chief Russian military consultant during the Civil war in Spain, in charge of army supplies and rescue operation of orphans, children of Spanish soldiers who died in the war. Kuznetsov was one of the very few Russian top officers who prepared the fleet for WWII, and who fought the German fleet with minimal losses. He was dismissed from his office in 1948 by Stalin, then appointed as the Navy minister in 1951, and then again dismissed by Khrushchev. Chronology of life, bibliography. Indices.
